The therapy center for thyroid diseases has at its disposal high quality medical equipment according to the latest technical standards.

Thus the monitoring of therapy progression is carried out with the aid of a computer program exclusively developed for the therapy center for thyroid diseases (TZS). By means of this calculation the amount of activity applicable for supplemental therapy will be determined if necessary.

The computer program allows the respective calculation of the radiation dose for each thyroid area after taking a daily scintigram. If, for example, the activity throughput in an autonomous adenoma is too fast the computer program will immediately signalize that further therapy is to be applied while still in the in-patient unit. This guarantees the application of the exact respective activity amounts that will lead to the desired radiation dose within a particular thyroid area.

The entire sewage of the therapy ward is collected in a liquid waste storage plant. The sewage will not be discharged into the public sewer network until its level of radioactivity has fallen below the legal limit for drinking water.
